The SPL DMC is the heart of the modern mastering studio. Engineered from the ground up, this dual-channel 3U mastering console connects converters, players, DAW, recorders, and speakers in one transparent, high-headroom signal path. Powered by SPL’s unique 120V technology and 5th-generation SUPRA operational amplifiers, the DMC delivers exceptional dynamic range, vanishingly low noise, and effortless clarity that lets you hear every detail with absolute confidence.
Inputs, Sources & Recording Path
Four stereo Inputs handle signals destined for processing, while four stereo Sources provide instant comparison and reference playback. Each channel offers on/off switching, polarity reverse, mono summing, and precise 0.25 dB stepped trims. A large recording-gain potentiometer enables sensitive level rides and can be completely removed from the signal path when not in use. Two independent stereo Recording outputs feed your converters or recorders with pristine transparency.
Monitoring & Insert Flexibility
Three stereo speaker pairs plus two mono outputs (subwoofer and radio/check speaker) give comprehensive monitoring options. The insert return is also trim-adjustable in 0.25 dB steps, making it ideal for pairing with the SPL Hermes Mastering Router. Loudness compensation (±10 dB), dim, solo, phase reverse, and mute functions keep critical listening precise. A dedicated Phonitor HP output drives an external headphone amplifier, with programmable speaker mute during headphone use.
Expandable Multichannel Monitoring
Link the DMC with the optional SPL MC16 16-channel monitor controller for immersive and surround workflows (Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, etc.). Volume control of the L/R and Sub can be transferred between the two units without re-patching, allowing seamless switching between stereo and multichannel projects.
