The elysia channex | studio is a Class-A analogue channel strip designed to deliver mix-ready audio from the moment of recording. It combines a high-end microphone preamplifier, dynamic equalizer, compressor/limiter, zero-latency monitoring section, and five selectable Flavor coloring options — all fully recallable via hardware presets and DAW plugin. High-End Preamp
The DC-coupled microphone preamp provides up to 64 dB of clean gain with switchable impedance, +48 V phantom power, phase reverse, and an adjustable high-pass filter. A dedicated High-Z instrument input on the front and a rear XLR/TRS combo line input offer maximum flexibility. Gain settings are stored per input type and automatically recalled when switching sources.
Analog Dynamic Equalizer
The 4-band equalizer features a low-frequency band, two switchable mid bands, and a high-frequency band, with full control over frequency, gain, and Q via elysia Shell controllers. Each band can operate in dynamic mode, intelligently responding only to the level within its frequency range — a feature typically found only in plug-ins — for natural, musical shaping.
Dual-Stage Compressor & Limiter
The compressor section simplifies vocal and instrument levelling: set threshold, shape dynamics with release (attack adjustable in sub-menu), and fine-tune with make-up gain. An integrated limiter catches peaks transparently, preventing overloads during critical recording. A soft-clip limiter in the output stage adds final polish and protection.
Flavor - Analog Coloring
Choose and blend up to five analog coloring options — from warm vintage to modern edge — with individual intensity control. The Flavor section can be bypassed instantly for clean comparison, letting you dial in signature character without external processing.
Zero-Latency Monitoring
A dedicated zero-latency monitoring section features two high-quality headphone amplifiers and three independent mixes (DAW playback, processed input, built-in reverb). Talkback mic input with preamp and footswitch activation, plus mute macros, make it perfect for artist/engineer communication during sessions.
Full Recall & Flexible Routing
Store up to 22 presets directly on the hardware for standalone recall. The included plugin enables DAW automation, preset naming, export/import, and full control of all parameters. Every major processing block (EQ, compressor/limiter, insert, Flavor) can be freely reordered in the signal path, and headphone mixes can tap from different points in the chain.
Hardware Insert
A bypassable hardware insert allows integration of external outboard gear at any point in the signal path. Flexible routing ensures the insert can be placed before or after dynamics, EQ, or Flavor sections — or between Mid/Side encoding/decoding when using stereo processing.
