The RME Fireface 802 FS is a professional 60-channel USB 2.0 audio interface designed for live and studio applications, housed in a compact 19” rackmount enclosure. Renowned for uncompromising sound quality, ultra-low latency, and rock-solid stability, it features four high-end mic/line preamps, reference-class 32-bit AD/DA converters, and a comprehensive DSP effects suite. Premium Preamps and Conversion

The Fireface 802 FS includes four high-performance XLR/TRS combo inputs with preamps derived from RME’s OctaMic II, offering up to 54 dB gain, exceptional signal-to-noise ratios (113 dB RMS unweighted, 116 dBA), and low distortion. The 32-bit AD/DA converters deliver a 126.5 dB dynamic range (DAC) and 120 dB (ADC), ensuring pristine audio at up to 24-bit/192 kHz. SteadyClock FS jitter suppression guarantees precise clocking, even with external sources, for flawless recording and playback.

Extensive Connectivity and Expansion

With 30 inputs and 30 outputs (12 analog, 18 digital), the 802 FS offers eight balanced TRS line inputs/outputs, two ADAT I/Os (16 channels at 48 kHz, 8 at 96 kHz, 4 at 192 kHz), AES/EBU, and S/PDIF (optical, switchable via Multi-Mode). MIDI and Word Clock I/O ensure seamless integration, while DC-coupled line outputs enable CV/gate control for modular synthesizers like Eurorack. Two headphone outputs (+17 dBu) drive high-impedance headphones with clarity.

Advanced DSP and Control

TotalMix FX DSP mixer provides latency-free monitor mixes with EQ, dynamics, reverb, and delay, replacing external mixers. TotalMix Remote enables real-time control via iPad, Windows, or Mac over Ethernet/WiFi. The optional ARC USB remote offers 15 programmable buttons and an encoder wheel for hands-on control. Class Compliant mode ensures driverless operation on Linux, Mac, and iPadOS, with full 60-channel support. Standalone mode allows operation without a computer.
