Pop filters are extremely important tools when using microphones in recording studios. If you want to preserve the personality of the human voice as true as possible using high-resolution microphones without room acoustic influences the pop filter is the only solution. It is designed to eliminate any undesired pop sounds, air currents and other annoying sounds, at the same time protecting the microphone capsule.

The problem though that most pop filters cause with voice recordings, is the change in frequency response as well as the resulting lifelessness of the signal. Voices are filtered lifeless, and often dirty hissing sounds are caused by unsuitable clothing when the air stream of the voice is cut off at the hard and even edges of fabric and filter. In most cases, you only notice this when working on the recording with compressors and equalizers.

Now with the Pauly-SuperScreen, that is different.

Maximum mechanical precision and a construction that is ingeniously refined down to the last detail ensure that the complete frequency response is conserved and human voices sound completely natural. The Pauly Pop Filter is a true high-tech device. It uniquely removes the above-mentioned disturbing noises of human voices during the recording before they can hit the microphone cartridge.

This results in exceptionally clean voice recordings that can be worked on in a much more satisfying way than one was used to.

The Pauly Ring

The perforated aluminum ring with its 120 mms diameter is torsion resistant and has a sturdy galvanized surface. It’s available in Nickel and Black, the classic microphone colors.

The ring’s holes feature a gentle counter-bore so the undesired air flow and disturbing sounds can exit the inner section between the two cloth planes of the Pauly P 120 quietly and quickly. This creates enormous acoustic benefits.

The Pauly Fabric

The two layers of super thin fabric on the Pauly P 120 are positioned at an acoustically suitable distance and applied under different optimum tensions each. In addition, the fabric on each side of the ring is aligned in a different direction. Its structure is soft and fluffy.

Thanks to these features, the Pauly-SuperScreen set a standard, especially in high-class recording studios. It’s being used by numerous radio and TV stations, distributed directly or recommended by renowned microphone makers and went on a successful journey from Europe all the way to America and China. However, its qualities have also become indispensable in smaller specialized studios or with the production of radio commercials, audio books, newscasts, and radio interviews. The Pauly pop filters have become indispensable. It is understood that you should not save on one of the most important elements of the recording process.

Disinfection

Please read the instructions before disinfecting the filter ring.

The Pauly Mounts

The mounts need to serve multiple mechanical purposes as well as absorb structure-borne noise. The Pauly mounts meet both demands excellently.

The Pauly Gooseneck

The numerous capabilities of the Pauly SuperScreen result from the use of the Pauly goseneck with its long-lasting resilience based on the use of top quality materials and superb workmanship.

The “T-30” stands for the 30-centimeter (ca. 12’’) Pauly-gooseneck, which enables ideal filter positioning. Plus, it can be easily used with almost any type of microphone or stand. In order to fit microphone stands in the U. S., the lower mounting eye is larger so that the gooseneck can be fastened to the standard 5/8’’ thread. The gooseneck was also designed by PaulyTon, which means it stands for years of reliable use.

The Pauly Adapter-Cone

An Adapter-Cone developed by PaulyTon is available to mount the filter ring on a separate mic stand. Mounting on the standard 5/8’’ thread is possible after removing the metric reduction thread.

The Pauly Adapter-Cone is extremely versatile and, in addition to that, completely isolates the microphone in use from any structure-borne noise.

Due to its design, the Adapter-Cone absorbs vibrations. This further reduces any wobble of the filter ring, which also has a positive effect on filtering disturbing noise and gaining a lively signal.

The Pauly Spider Clip

The Pauly Spider Clip gives you a fast, easy and visually attractive mount for Pauly filter rings on microphone spiders. It is a different type of mount than the goseneck. The spider clip has certain benefits, like isolating from structure-borne sounds, faster use and cool appearance. It is nice and discrete as well as easy to use.
