IGS Audio V8 - Discrete Tube Vari-Mu Compressor

The IGS Audio V8 is a premium dual-mono/stereo-linkable Vari-Mu tube compressor built entirely with discrete components and six IGS Custom transformers (three per channel). Featuring a bridge of 4 hand-matched pulse diodes for compression, stepped Elma controls, sidechain HPF, +10 dB threshold boost, and analog VU metering, the V8 delivers the classic tube glue, depth, and harmonic richness of vintage designs. Perfect for mix bus, mastering, drums, bass, vocals, and groups, it offers unlimited tonal possibilities with exceptional build quality and musical character.

Vari-Mu Tube Compression

The V8 uses a classic Vari-Mu (remote cutoff) tube circuit with a diode bridge for smooth, program-dependent gain reduction and rich harmonic coloration. Six stepped attack times (0.1 ms–30 ms) and release times (0.1 s–1.4 s + Auto) provide precise control, while the +10THR switch lowers the threshold by 10 dB for stronger compression on quiet or dynamic sources. The sidechain HPF (OFF/40/80/120/180/240/320 Hz) prevents low-end pumping, ensuring tight, musical results.
