Yamaha's latest digital mixer is more like a centerpiece for your DAW studio. With 16 preamps you could record a full band, do a live gig, record an enormous drum kit etc so it fulfills the role of tracking. Moving on to mixing it not only has built in DSP but has full motorized fader control for your DAW software, as well as enough DA converters to incorporate outboard gear and monitoring.
